I have a dream!

Those words have been re-echoed by many great men. The two men that come instantly to mind are Joseph, the dreamer, and Martin Luther King Jnr. You can come up with your own list of men and women who had a dream. The pattern that I see in all cases plays out like this: It starts with the dream, then a period I would like to call ‘lost in limbo’, and finally, the dream manifest.

We would like to focus on what goes on between ‐ ‘lost in limbo’.  Some call it a time of preparation, but that could imply an orderly and well detailed plan with timelines. In reality, what goes on in between feels very random and all over the place. Most of the experiences don’t even make sense to you. You may even find yourself asking God if he has forgotten you or if the dream was only a figment of your imagination. You worry, you get anxious, you doubt, and yes, you panic.

Let’s review a few scenarios:

1. Joseph had a dream. He saw his family bow down to him, which implies greatness. He went from dreaming to being sold into slavery, falsely accused of rape, imprisoned, forgotten by those he helped in prison. But one day!

2. David was anointed King of Isreal in the presence of his family. He went on to become an intern, playing the harp for King Saul, slaying a giant, becoming one of the King’s military leader, becoming the King’s son in law, becoming the King’s enemy with a ransom on his life, dodging spears, hiding in caves, acting as a madman to save himself. But one day!

3. Moses was the deliverer. A death warrant was issued on every child born at the time he was born; he was hidden in a basket and left to fate on the riverbanks; he wandered into the hands of an Egyptian princess; grew up as royalty; had an identity crisis; faced rejection when he tried to defend a jew; lost his royal privileges; was exiled to the wilderness for forty years and eventually settled for the life of a shepherd tending sheep. But one day!

4. Jesus came to save the world. His parents nearly separated before He arrived but for divine intervention. At the time of His birth, they couldn’t find a suitable spot, so they settled for a manger. His parents fled to Egypt to save His life. He had to grow up as the son of a carpenter, a profession with no direct correlation to the future that He was destined to fulfil. But one day!

The path that each one of these Bible characters charted tells us that there is a lesson in the Limbo. Do you feel like you are in a place that makes no sense? You are not alone! Looking back at my personal journey, the year I felt was the worst year of my life turned out to be one of the best years of my life. At that point, I felt like I was in the fire; it burned really hot, and I shed many tears. But when I came out, I was refined. I gained perspective, and the trajectory of my life changed dramatically; now, I no longer wonder why I walked that path. I am still in my limbo, but I trust the state of limbo. It has had a purpose in the life of every great person that I know, and it has always ended with – but one day!

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster; to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

The Phrase, “Until one day” or “But one Day” suggest time to be our most valuable resource and asset. As long as we are alive, the limbo experience surely counts for an expected end as GOD promises. GOD bless life and becoming

This post is very timely as I’ve been in the limbo wondering if God has forgotten the dream he revealed to me. I was beginning to think otherwise but this piece is a life lesson…hang in there as long as possible because “until one day” is certain. Keep learning and improving before then

Wow! This is just so me right now, like I know what God has said concerning me even though they’re kind of hard for me to believe and to worsen the case I don’t even look like any of it right now, instead there seem to be too much delays and disappointments and sometimes I’m like God what do you even want to do with this my life sef but I’m glad He lovingly corrects me and tell me to just keep trusting Him, through His word and even write ups like this. Thank you so much Sir/Ma for allowing God use you to meet my needs
