Last week, our post talked about the perfect response to times of trouble. Even though, we used our personal story, we wanted to focus on the perfect response.
So we were amazed at the outpouring of love, thoughts and prayers for us. While our subscribers took away the lessons from the post, they did not forget that there was a true story behind the lesson and some hurt involved. As much as they cared about the lessons, they also cared about the faces behind the story. It immediately got me thinking, isn’t this the kind of world we would like to live in? One where we gather around people who experience some kind of pain, loss, suffering or are going through difficult times. We may not be able of offer them the exact things they need at that point, but a thought, a prayer, a genuine concern will go a long way. That is the ‘Perfect Community’.
We were not created to walk alone. There is always that need for genuine human interaction. We should be quick to recognize that even in this ever changing globalized online world, we need real community. Some people have fallen into the trap of having thousands of online friends, but when trouble hits, they are really lonely.
We need to be intentional about picking our friends and community and yes I said ‘Pick’. I don’t think we should stumble on our close friendships or they, stumble on us. We need to pick out our friends. While we may stumble on ourselves at the first meet, we need to decide who stays and more importantly who stays close. Our close friends and community need to be aligned on values and beliefs.
Building the Perfect Community does not take a day, it will take years of building, trials, errors, mistakes, and sometimes regrets. But we pick up ourselves, learn our lessons and keep building.
Thank you to everyone who reached out to say a prayer and wish us well.
We would love to hear from you, so please share your thoughts on this post with us and tell a friend.
